Bruce's Timing

It just occurred to me that Bruce's "death" has excellent timing since it means that once again he can avoid taking responsibility for his actions. Later on he can return and no one can yell at him (at least not for awhile) without looking bad. I wouldn't put it past Bruce and it's amusing to imagine him scheming of ways to get out of awkward confrontations.

  1. Heh. I never thought of that. Once again, he comes out smelling like a rose. He's just waiting perhaps for a really big crisis, so he can swoop in and save the day. Again.

  2. I'm more bugged at the fact they wasted months to Damian's return just to "kill" Bruce the next month.

You know, I'm starting to think that Snyder doesn't like writing Damian.

  3. Sally: Granted Bruce would probably turn it around like it was everyone else's fault (like Tomasi had him do in Batman and Robin) if he wasn't "dead."

Tzitzimine: I recall Snyder admitting he didn't feel he had a proper handle on Damian. I do think all the Bat kids except Dick were a little weak in DOTF. But I believe this take has more to do with his vision for the way he sees Batman/Joker ending since it was originally his last story before the Gordon Batman thing came up.
