25 Days of Supporting Characters: Trixie Collins

#6 Theresa "Trixie" Collins/Goldstar 1
Coming to work from Kansas for the new up and coming hero Booster Gold as his receptionist Trixie got to see him at his highs and lows.

Why she's important to Booster: Trixie was Boosters' first actual friend after he arrived in the past. Despite Skeets warning him to keep a distance from others and to never to reveal his past (Skeets still told Superman) Booster was honest when she asked for answers. She's the first person to really look past the image, to notice that for all his desire for fame Booster had kept details from them. And maybe he wasn't really happy because other than Skeets, Dirk and her who did he really have? By reaching out she helped bring out his better qualities.

See Trixie had it pretty bad for Booster and it looked like he never noticed. To make matters worse he made it clear to everyone that he wasn't the type to get tied down. While Trixie attempted to move on with Dirk she still supported Booster right to the end of his series. A character that might come off as mousy at first Trixie puts her foot down when she needs to. Compassionate and (as much as I hate to say it) better at using the Goldstar uniform than Michelle has been. She's tied with Broderick as a character I'd like to see more of.

Suggested Reading: Booster Gold # 13, 14 and 15 Vol.1 This was her first and only appearances as Goldstar. Trixie doesn't want to wear the suit but realizing she's the only one who can fit the costume she dons it to save Boosters' life. And make a quip about his booty as well. She's heroic and very supportive as Booster faces his demons and admits to his failings.

  1. Awww...I liked Trixie. They should bring her back.

  2. They should. Jurgens admitted that he wants to when a plot comes along, as he always had a soft spot for her.
